Trip to Maidstone June 2014
The Basildon Greenaway day trip this year was to Kent. Fifty one people attended; a proportion of those walked on the North Downs on a pleasant but hilly walk. The weather was perfect. Non walkers were driven to Maidstone to view the town or do some shopping until the whole group met up again. It made a change that everyone had time to have some lunch before boarding the Kentish Lady River Boat. We had a wonderful three hour boat trip on the River Medway, where everyone could relax and view the passing Kentish scenery. We all enjoyed a boxed sandwich and cream tea with tea provided. Others opted to enjoy a chilled glass of wine or beer. In all a very pleasant day in very pleasant company.
